Can the hay net be torn?

 In

A horse weighs approximately 500 kg on average. Due to its weight it can sometimes “mess up”. It happened once that one of our Fjord horses started pawing (a net-wrapped hay bale) and having hooked against the hay net, it lost its horseshoe and tore the hay net.

In the case of shod horses it is recommended to use some kind of a board – it can be made using stabling methods (we will soon have something more professional on offer). This only applies to a large hay net for a hay bale – cylindrical shape and cuboid shape for hay cubes that stand on the ground. If a hay net is torn with a horseshoe, the simplest “repair kit” is a binder rope.
